Height-Adjustable Workbench and Work Table: PETec Systems up to 12 t
Five table ranges · no hydraulics · advice and delivery throughout Switzerland
Why a height-adjustable workbench?
A classic workbench has a fixed height that rarely fits exactly: tall people work bent over, shorter people with raised shoulders. A height-adjustable work table, by contrast, adapts to the person and the task. Precision work with high visual demands calls for a higher surface, work requiring force for a lower one. As a standards-based guideline under DIN EN ISO 14738, a range of around 95–115 cm applies to standing work, depending on the task. Our guide Preventing musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace shows which SUVA guideline values apply to lifting and carrying.
PETec height-adjustable workbenches and work tables are made to measure in Germany and adjusted by a patented spindle-chain drive: no hydraulic oil, self-locking and infinitely variable under full load. Looking for a table specifically for assembly, testing or welding? You will find the assembly and welding table variants on our page Height-adjustable assembly tables for industry. If you need to lift pallets and heavy loads rather than work on parts, a lifting table is the right solution.
The PETec ranges at a glance
From the compact workshop table to the heavy-duty workbench: five ranges, configured to measure.
PETec, Made in Germany
PETec Basic
Compact table system with two height-adjustable legs, the versatile workbench for workshops, packing stations or test stations. Adjustable electrically (230 V), by battery, hand crank or cordless screwdriver.
Sturdy table system with four height-adjustable legs and synchronous adjustment, the workbench for medium to heavy loads. Optionally with drawers or castors.
PETec Mono: for compact single workstations there are special solutions with just one table leg, designed for up to 300 kg. The Mono range is configured for each project, so please get in touch.

Choosing a workbench or work table: five criteria
Load capacity: what counts is the sum of workpiece, fixture and tools, plus a reserve for load peaks when setting parts down. Up to 750 kg the Basic is often sufficient; heavier loads are carried by the Advanced with up to 12 t.
Working height: if several people or shifts work at the same table, the height is simply readjusted instead of forcing a compromise. The guideline for standing work is around 95–115 cm.
Stability: two table legs (Basic) are enough for many workbenches, four synchronously adjusted legs (Advanced) suit heavy and large loads, one leg (Mono) suits compact special workstations.
Table top: smooth surface for assembly and testing, wooden top on the Ecoline, 360° swivelling top on the Professional or Siegmund perforated plate with 16 mm system for welding and clamping work (see welding tables).
Every PETec range can be matched to the way you work. If the height changes often, for example in shift work or with changing orders, electric adjustment via 230 or 400 volts or by battery makes sense. For occasional adjustment, the mechanical variants with cordless screwdriver, hand crank or notched adjustment are sufficient.
In all cases the patented spindle-chain drive works without hydraulics: no hydraulic oil, no risk of leaks, no complex maintenance of a hydraulic system. The drive is self-locking, so the table stays safely in any position.

Applications
Workshop and trade: Ecoline and Basic as height-adjustable workbenches for repairs, pre-assembly and small batches.
Assembly and testing: ergonomic workstations where assemblies are mounted and tested at the ideal height.
Maintenance and production cells: workpieces are processed on the table and rolled to the next station together with the table.
Laboratory, pharma and cleanroom: without hydraulic oil and risk of leaks, also suitable where cleanliness is mandatory.
Packing station: Tirugo does not carry dedicated packing tables, but a PETec table can be used as a height-adjustable packing table.
Welding: for welding and clamping work there are height-adjustable welding tables with Siegmund plate up to 5,000 kg, see models.

Frequently asked questions about height-adjustable workbenches
What is the difference between a workbench and a height-adjustable work table?
A classic workbench has a fixed working height. A height-adjustable workbench or work table adapts its height to the person and the task, with PETec infinitely variable and even under full load. This lets different people and shifts work at the same table in an ergonomic posture.
What load capacity does a PETec height-adjustable workbench have?
That depends on the range: the PETec Basic carries up to 750 kg, the Professional up to 1,500 kg in the electric version and the Advanced with four synchronous legs up to 12 t. Special solutions with one table leg (Mono) are designed for up to 300 kg; for the Ecoline, the load capacity depends on the configuration.
Electric or manual: which drive is right?
Electric adjustment via 230 or 400 volts or by battery pays off if the height is changed often. For occasional adjustment, mechanical variants with cordless screwdriver, hand crank or notched adjustment are sufficient. In all cases the PETec spindle-chain drive works without hydraulics and is self-locking.
