Lifting Tables: Types, Capacities and Advice in Switzerland

Load capacities 100 to 12,000 kg · Advice, delivery and service throughout Switzerland

What is a lifting table?

Lifting table is a common synonym for lift table or scissor lift table: a lifting device that raises and lowers loads vertically by means of a scissor mechanism. Stationary lifting tables are covered by the EN 1570 standard. This distinguishes them from the lifting platform, which is the umbrella term for lifting devices of all kinds. Our guide Lift Table or Lifting Platform? explains the terms in detail.

Lifting Table Types at a Glance

Five product lines from Flexlift and PETec cover the applications, from the modular compact lifting table to the height-adjustable work table.

Compact Lift Table FK

Compact: Flexlift FK Series

The compact lifting table FK is the universal entry point: a modular construction system, a robust scissor mechanism and an extensive accessory programme for the majority of applications. The double scissor FK-D covers large lift heights, the tandem scissor FK-T large platform lengths.

Flat Form FE & F-CE

Flat Form: Installed Height from 55 mm, No Pit

Flat form lifting tables allow floor-level loading without pit installation, ideal for ergonomic workstations, pick & pack and material supply. Six series cover the applications: from Euro pallet handling (FE) and the closed platform (F-CE) to the narrow FM design for heavy loads.

Spindle Lift Table SFL

Spindle: Flexlift SFL, Oil-Free and Precise

The spindle lifting table SFL works with an oil-free electromechanical spindle drive: no hydraulics, no leak risk, no environmental hazard. This makes it the first choice for food, pharmaceutical and cleanroom applications as well as precision assembly stations.

Belt-Drive Lift Table RFK

Belt-Drive: Flexlift RFK for High Lifts

The patented wedge spreading system of the RFK enables lifting heights up to 6,000 mm with a very low installed height in the lowered position. Designed for high cycle rates, this lifting table is the first choice for automated production and logistics lines.

PETec, Made in Germany

Height-Adjustable Work Tables from PETec

The height-adjustable work, assembly and welding tables from PETec use a patented spindle-chain drive system: no hydraulic oil, self-locking and virtually maintenance-free. Height adjustment is stepless under full load, via cordless screwdriver or electric control.

Choosing the Right Lifting Table

Three criteria determine the right type:

  • Load capacity: Nominal load, off-centre load and load centre of gravity determine the sizing. How to define these values correctly is explained in our guide Sizing a Lift Table Correctly.
  • Installed height: It decides whether the lifting table can be set up close to floor level without a pit (flat form) or whether a pit or ramp is planned.
  • Drive type: Hydraulic, spindle or belt, depending on the operating environment, cycle rate and required positioning accuracy.

For detailed decision support across all types and drives, see our guide Choosing the Right Lift Table.

Frequently Asked Questions about Lifting Tables

What is a lifting table?

A lifting table is a lifting device that raises and lowers loads vertically by means of a scissor mechanism. It is the same product as a lift table or scissor lift table. Stationary lifting tables are covered by the EN 1570 standard.

Lifting table or lift table: what is the difference?

There is no technical difference: lifting table and lift table refer to the same product, the terms are regional variants. Scissor lift table also describes the same design with a scissor mechanism.

What load capacities are possible with lifting tables?

The Flexlift and PETec product lines cover load capacities from 100 to 12,000 kg, from height-adjustable work tables to heavy-duty lifting tables with spindle or belt drive. Special solutions with different load capacities are available on request.
